Only just got to editing the rest of my photos from my trip to Warmia Grajewo earlier in the month - the previous time I was here was for their match against LKS Lomza, a spicy affair that got abandoned after the home fans went bananas 😂

This match against Wigry Suwalki was a little less insane, but nonetheless supremely enjoyable - great set of lads this lot, can't wait for my next visit 💯 👌

My passion lies in photographing fan culture and stadiums - as such, rarely is my camera trained on the actual pitch.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I leave the majority of matches not having a scooby what the score is and having watched less than 30 seconds of football. But penalties are different 😍 I can't take my eyes off a shootout, and the one that decided Wednesday's cup match was among the most ridiculous I've ever seen 😂

At times it felt like both teams were doing their utmost to miss. Eventually, however, the home side snatched it to advance through to the semi-finals of the regional cup. All told, a very decent afternoon 😃

I find the old school entrance to Stomil's ground

I find the old school entrance to Stomil's ground simply irresistible 😍

If i'm right, this used to be the entry for the Ultras section, though for quite some time the entire stand has been closed and cordoned off and is today accessible only to members of the press.

I'm aware that fans desperately want to leave for a new ground, but personally I'd love to see them renovate their current one - there's such an incredible sense of sporting heritage here, it would be a shame to lose that forever.

Got to target destination at noon - bosh, straight into the nearest curry house and then a few pints in the Old Town. Tempting as it was to stay in the pub, decided to use down time before this evening's match to check out the home of Warmia Olsztyn.... and wow 😍

What a place of haunting beauty. I need to read up more about Warmia before posting more about they, but blimey, this ground is real football geek gold.

Amazingly, the ground is still in use, and in fact the home team play tomorrow at noon. Unfortunately, I will be on the train by then and heading onwards for Match No. 2.

Really excited about this weekend, and in fact this week, if the stars align there is much potential! 🔥

I'm utterly conflicted when it comes to this weekend. Just got accreditation through for the Rzeszow derby on Friday night, but... I'm thinking it's Stomil Olsztyn's match tomorrow that could be the standout 🤔

I absolutely adore Olsztyn as a town, whilst Stomil's ground is an absolute classic. Tricky decision, but I'm definitely starting to talk myself into taking the Olsztyn option...

It was an absolutely superb night at Polonia Warsa

It was an absolutely superb night at Polonia Warsaw yesterday, but those who weren't present will have to take my word for that - having left my camera at home, I can offer nothing in the way of visual evidence.

So, instead, have a totally random pic of one of Poland's finest stands - what a work of engineering this is! Found at Sokol Pniewy, it's a relic from this side's short stint in the top flight in the early 90s.

If I'm correct, the club had to restart from scratch after GKS Tychy essentially bought their place in the top tier during the wild era of mergers and takeovers. Nowadays, Sokol struggle to pull more than a couple of hundred fans, but have no doubt this stadium is real bucket list material 😍

There was no football for me at the weekend, but I'll be heading down in a few hours to Polonia Warsaw for their relegation six-pointer against Resovia.

At a time when most Polish stadiums look like illuminated plastic toy boxes, I love the ground at Konwiktorska and the sense of heritage it evokes. Pre-match beers and sausages under the historic colonnades of the main stand can't be beaten - in my mind, they're an essential part of the Polonia experience 🍺👍

Plan A had been to go to Katowice on Sunday, unfortunately the dog has other ideas so instead I'll most likely beeline to Kielce tomorrow for Korona's match against Stal Mielec.

I can't say the 'new' stadium in Kielce excites me much, but it's great that their beautiful old stadium still survives. Here it is pictured a couple of years back - still used by their reserve team, it's a bit of a cracker. What a stand that is 😍

Plan A had been to go to Katowice on Sunday, unfortunately the dog has other ideas so instead I'll most likely beeline to Kielce tomorrow for Korona's match against Stal Mielec.

I can't say the 'new' stadium in Kielce excites me much, but it's great that their beautiful old stadium still survives. Here it is pictured a couple of years back - still used by their reserve team, it's a bit of a cracker. What a stand that is 😍

I visited only once, but I'm glad I got to see the last few days of Warta Poznan's Ogrodek ground. I think I'm correct in saying that the ground is currently being redeveloped into what stands to become the most environmentally conscious ground in Poland 😮
