Wawel Wirek’s away end is the size and style of a wendy house – and flanked as it is by a decorative Christmas tree that stands there in all seasons, you can’t help but wonder if it serves as a Santa’s Grotto once the festive season knocks. An amusing counter-balance to the brutal cages often seen at this level, it’s hard to take it seriously – surely someone was having a laugh when they stuck it up? Anyhow, you’re unlikely to see too many away fans at this level, so from what I can work out you’re free to sit there yourself next to the club’s tannoy announcer. Rather brilliantly, it’s got a shaded park bench next to it as well.
